The Central Coal & Iron Co was on South Second Street near the IGA Store and was owned by the Duponts of Delaware.
T. Coleman Dupont lived in Central City and ran for mayor. He was defeated by Jim McDowell and returned to Wilmington, Delaware

Camp Wekenboca was a summer camp for boys and it cost $7.00 for a 10 day stay -- A 14 year old boy caused the train wreck in 1913, because
he had placed a spike on the rail to see what would happen to the spike. The Engineer and 2 others badly injured in the 1940 wreck, 24 people were injured and taken to Muhlenberg Community Hospital where 2 of whom later died.
